PROBLEM:

The client had just purchased a home in the meadows community in Ferndale Washington after the home sat on the market for too long. They realized that the reason the home didn’t sell was because the landscape was bare and didn’t have a fence.

The client has a grandkid that they take care of often and wanted to have a space for the family to enjoy outside. They knew they wanted a concrete patio and fencing to be able to increase their outdoor living space and function ability of the home.

SOLUTION:

After consulting with the client at their home, our team had ongoing conversation with the client and communicated conceptual ideas and drawings. The proposal included 170’ of black hog panel custom fencing, a cobblestone bed alongside the sidewalk, a concrete patio surrounded by cobblestone, and another 6’ privacy fence around the patio to create a private oasis feeling.

RESULTS:

The clients were so happy with the work they have been overwhelmed with compliments from the neighbors.

PROBLEM:

The client recently purchased the home after relocating from Texas. They had one goal in mind when it came to their backyard. Increase the space by creating a wall, and plant trees to give privacy between them and the traffic to the local mailbox. Their backyard was basically a dangerous cliff, and they hated to go into their backyard.

SOLUTION:

Initially we proposed to build the wall as seen in the photos. After the wall was built, we were going to plant the arborvitae trees to separate the yard from the traffic, and than we haulted the project because we all thought there could be more of a better implementation of an outdoor living space with a good design. That is when we put together a hand drawing concept for the client. The drawing resulted in an amazing project that entailed custom poured patio pavers, a black hog panel fence, gravel that surrounds a firepit, raised veggie beds, blueberries and raspberries, and a nice perfect size patch of grass.

RESULTS:

The clients are to this day ecstatic of their backyard! They stated that before we were finished, they dreaded looking out their back door patio, or even sitting on their back deck, and now they want to be out there all the time.

Problem

The client was looking to increase his outdoor living space and make better utilization of his pathways. In addition, he wanted to create a personalized “oasis” in between his two garages. Easy maintenance of everything was also a top priority.

Solution

After meeting with the client we discussed his needs, PCL developed a plan centered around installing flat pavers and a fence.

Using pavers made from only the best-quality materials in order to last for years and resist erosion and cracking, PCL got to work on the first part of the project. The flat surfaces of the pavers, along with our care to make sure they aligned evenly, ensured safety and ease of use.

After finishing the installation of the pavers, PCL constructed a fence for the oasis. This provided the client two distinct benefits: privacy and a sense of enclosure and intimacy.

Results

The client couldn’t have been happier. Now he has a custom-tailored outdoor space for reading books and relaxing. Additionally, it’s a place where he can meditate and generate good ideas. And PCL delivered another successful project for a Whatcom County client!

Transform Your Own Living Space Today!

PROBLEM

A Ferndale family had an existing fence that they wanted to remove. In its place, they wished to have a beautiful new horizontal-style cedar fence installed. Realizing that a new fence might impact the aesthetics or even the values of their neighbors’ homes, they wanted to do the right thing and make sure the new fence would be a neighbor-friendly one.

SOLUTION

The family entrusted Puget Construction & Landscape (PCL) with installing a new cedar fence for their Ferndale home. After meeting with the clients and listening to their needs and to their considerations for their neighbors, we developed a plan to meet all the objectives. Using 4x6x10 pressure-treated cedar posts, we concreted the posts 2’ into the ground with the centers 6’ apart. Then we finished the fence with a horizontal, neighbor-friendly style for the planks and spaced them according to the family’s wants for a balance between openness and privacy.

RESULTS

This project was a win for everyone in this Ferndale community. The family now has a beautiful new horizontal cedar fence accenting their yard, and it looks great from all angles and has the durability that will last for years. Due to PCL’s meticulous design and care, no neighbors are stuck with a view of the “ugly” side of the fence. And PCL has again proven to clients and their neighbors how we beautify and protect homes and properties.
